So, I told my students - "Look, the last time I did this was probably before you were born - so I won't pretend to be an expert, and not even a novice. So, Don (Parks) is gonna tells us about sieve analysis, and lead us in the Lab."

These are a good bunch of kids - they jump right in there.
One thing I `got' from Don's talk was about the issue of scale. I generally work on relatively small projects, where small differences are generally `no big deal'. But on big projects (miles and miles of highway, for example), little differences ADD UP!
