Field Trip to Metriguard, Pullman, WA ...
Metriguard manufacturers machines for testing and rating lumber (Machine Rated Lumber). The machines are sold and serviced all over the world.
Pictured is General Manager James Allen explaining to UI CE 357 students how the machine in back of him E-rates lumber. Though the machines were idle during our visit, we are told that the machine in back of him rates 3 pieces a second and can shoot them out the end across the parking lot (back door open, presumably).
